INSANITY & HIIT

Involves doing short intervals of explosive exercises interspersed with short intervals of rest. The exercises include power cleans, snatches, jump squats and kettlebell swings, among others, all of which are typically executed in order to develop explosive power, strength and speed for sports performance. The foundations of the Insanity program build on the principles of HIIT. HIIT stands for High-Intensity Interval Training. The HIIT concept is nothing new, although it is popular at present. It also shares some similarities with Fartlek training. Fartlek training started in 1937 and utilizes the concept of interval training. HIIT training typically combines high energy and low energy exercise performed in intervals. The foundations of the Insanity program build on the principles of HIIT.

BodyPUMP is the hottest thing to hit health clubs since Spinning. Imported from New Zealand just three years ago, these weight-training classes are now offered at Herfiness.

What is BodyPUMP

BodyPump is a cardio strength class that utilizes barbells to perform resistance exercises and workouts; all completed to upbeat music mix tracks. Body pump classes are run by professional trainers and usually last around 45-60 minutes. They are fun yet rigorous workouts that raise heart rate, work every area of your body and cause serious calorie burn.

Body Pump has now taken hold globally as a great class for people of all levels of fitness.  The calories burnt by BodyPump will leave you smiling before and after your session!

Taebo has been characterized as an excellent cardiovascular workout with very good distractions.

Because of the movements it involves, Taebo is effective in toning and defining the body’s musculature. It can also improve one’s balance, flexibility, coordination and has cardiovascular benefits.

Legs, Tums & Bums

Legs, Bums & Tums is a light hearted class which will tone and shape the targeted areas, as well as increasing stamina and cardiovascular fitness over all. Aerobic warm ups and stretch sessions at the end will also increase the flexibility of your body. The exercises are designed to tone and build strength, so over time muscle definition will become more apparent. If you want to get a flat tummy and tone your legs and bum this is a great workout for you!
